About the Artist

Hello. My name is Amelia Mindich and I am a senior at Clarkstown High School North in New City, New York. I have taken five ceramics courses: Intro to Ceramics, Clay as sculptural multiples, clay as functional multiples, an independent study, and Advanced Clay. Ceramics is a fulfilling hobby of mine that I hope to continue in college and for the rest of my life. I enjoy scuplting and carving clay the most, but I also like to throw pieces on the wheel.

 

My passion is nature. I have devoted a year of my life (a gap year between high school and college) to spending time outdoors. Destinations of my trip include Yellowstone National Park, the Blue Ridge Mountains, Peru, Israel, and Northern California. I love to hike, canoe, and swim, and find the natural world to be the core of my being. Other than being outdoors, I like yoga, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
